The number of casualties from the Russian ballistic missile strikes on Odesa has risen again. A further victim has died in the hospital, bringing the total death toll to three people.

"Unfortunately, we have to report that the death toll from yesterday’s attack has increased. A 41-year-old man has died in the hospital. My condolences go out to the family," said the head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, Oleg Kiper.

Recall that on May 23, around 14:15, Russian armed forces launched missile strikes on the port infrastructure of Odesa. Preliminary investigations suggest that the occupiers used two Iskander-M ballistic missiles.

Initially, a 40-year-old employee of a private cargo handling company was reported dead at the scene. Later, a 71-year-old man succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. Now, with the death of the 41-year-old victim, the total number of fatalities has risen to three.

The Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office has initiated a pre-trial investigation into the war crime that resulted in the loss of human life. Law enforcement classifies the incident as a violation of the laws and customs of war.

This is yet another Russian strike on the civilian infrastructure of Odesa, resulting in human casualties. The occupiers continue their terror against the peaceful population of Ukraine.
