On the night of August 6, a targeted attack was carried out on the compressor station of the Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine located in the Odesa region near the Romanian border.

This was reported by the Ministry of Energy.

According to the ministry, this facility is part of a route connecting Greek LNG terminals with Ukrainian gas storage through the Trans-Balkan pipeline, which has already seen LNG supplies from the USA and test volumes of Azerbaijani gas.

Last night, the infrastructure that supports these supplies was attacked by dozens of strike drones, the ministry emphasized.

"The massive Russian drone strike on a key compressor station along the Trans-Balkan route indicates that Moscow will use all available means to undermine the energy independence of Europeans and alternative gas supply routes," highlighted the minister, Svitlana Hrynchuk.

"If the Russians are allowed to strike our energy infrastructure and gas routes with impunity, no infrastructure in Europe will be safe," she stressed.
