On November 28, servicemen of the Ukrainian Navy discovered and destroyed a sea mine in the waters of the Odesa region. The explosive object was neutralized through controlled detonation, removing risks for navigation and coastal residents.
According to a statement from the Ukrainian Navy on Facebook, military sailors identified the dangerous object during the monitoring of the Odesa waters. The prompt actions of specialists allowed for timely threat localization and necessary measures to be taken.
"The Ukrainian Navy has successfully neutralized a sea mine found in the waters of Odesa. The explosive object was destroyed according to established procedures through controlled detonation, ensuring safety for navigation and the local population," the statement reads.
The destruction of sea mines is part of the ongoing efforts by the Ukrainian Navy to clear the Black Sea waters since the onset of the full-scale war. The presence of mines in coastal waters poses a serious threat to both civilian and military navigation, prompting specialists to continue systematic work on detecting and eliminating dangerous objects in the waters of Odesa and other regions.
