The Mayor of Odesa, Hennadiy Trukhanov, held a meeting with UITP Secretary General Mohamed Mezghani during the InnoTrans 2024 transportation exhibition in Berlin.

They discussed the challenges Odesa has faced, including the need for upgrading public transport, increasing passenger loads, and the importance of inclusivity. They also addressed issues related to cashless payments and blackout risks.

Mohamed Mezghani expressed UITP's readiness to support Odesa in addressing these challenges, noting that the organization unites over 1900 members from various countries.

It was agreed that Odesa would submit a request for bus fleet renewal, which UITP would assist with as part of humanitarian aid.

Moreover, both parties agreed to participate in a joint booth for Odesa and Hamburg at the upcoming UITP Summit next year.
