A new initiative titled «IT Launch» has been launched in Ukraine to train specialists in the field of information technology.

According to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated 24.06.2022 №737, the Procedure for implementing the experiment on training persons in the field of IT «IT Launch» has been approved.

Grant conditions – an individual who completes the training must commit to finding a job within 30 calendar days in their new qualification under the following terms:
- signing an employment or gig contract;
- entering into a civil law contract for work (services);
- registering as a self-employed individual or engaging in independent professional activity.

Who is the «IT Launch» program for?
The program is aimed at citizens of Ukraine (p.p.5, 9 of the Procedure) who:
- are on leave without pay;
- have had their employment contract suspended;
- are internally displaced persons of working age;
- registered unemployed individuals eligible for vocational training and retraining services.

Who cannot participate in the «IT Launch» program?
The Procedure does not apply to individuals (p.5 of the Procedure) who:
- do not have vocational or higher education;
- have less than 18 months of work experience;
- have specialized in IT or have experience in the IT industry.

How to obtain a grant for IT training?
To receive a training certificate, an individual must submit an electronic application on the "Diia Portal" including:
- an application;
- a resume in the form approved by the State Employment Center;
- confirmation of readiness from the educational institution to train the individual;
- a copy of the work record book or information from the insurance register regarding work experience;
- a copy of the education document (if available);
- a copy of the order confirming the individual's leave or suspension of the employment contract (if applicable).

The certificate is valid for 10 working days from the date of issuance, during which the individual must sign a contract with an educational institution for the chosen training program.

The Ministry of Digital Transformation will determine the list of educational institutions and training programs available for certification.

The main goal of the initiative is to ensure citizens' right to work and promote employment.
