Starting from August 9, 2024, comprehensive renovation works have begun at the Heroes' Tribune Square in Odesa to enhance infrastructure.
According to Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov, the arrival of new modern trams necessitates the repair of certain sections of the old tracks to ensure safe travel.
The works are being carried out in phases according to schedule and include repairs to the roadway, tram tracks, and street lighting, as well as improvements to green areas.
Currently, the tram tracks have been completely replaced in both the city center and the Lustdorf direction. The roadway has been leveled with the tram rails, facilitating smoother transit and increasing transport capacity. Road markings will be applied shortly.
Additionally, the external lighting system has been updated with energy-efficient fixtures, significantly enhancing safety during nighttime and reducing energy costs.
Improvements to green spaces are also ongoing.
All works are being conducted without halting traffic. Specialists from KP 'Odesmiskelektrotrans', KP 'Miskzelentrest', KP 'Odesmisksvitlo', and the Road Administration are involved in the project.
