The municipal enterprise «Odesa Heating Supply» is actively preparing for the heating season 2024/25.

In light of ongoing threats to the country’s energy infrastructure, one of the key tasks is to reduce electricity consumption within the enterprise.

According to Deputy Mayor Hanna Pozdniakova, a significant portion of the pumping units at «TMO» are outdated and consume excessive amounts of electricity in today’s reality.

For this reason, prior to the new heating season, negotiations were held between the management of «TMO» and the Swiss Embassy in Ukraine regarding the supply of four pumps, each with a capacity of 200 kW. The expected outcome is a reduction in energy consumption amid shortages.

According to the signed Memorandum, the Swiss Embassy financed the purchase of equipment worth approximately 12 million hryvnias.

In early October, four expected pumps arrived in Odesa. The equipment is currently being installed at one of the facilities of "Odesa Heating Supply," which serves over 100,000 consumers and more than 421 administrative buildings, including medical, educational, cultural, and religious institutions.

“This equipment is very important for the heating supply of Odesa. With lower energy consumption, it will help ensure that consumers in the city center receive adequate heating. Reducing consumption is especially crucial during power outages and when generators are in use,” said Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov.

Odesa expresses gratitude to international partners for their ongoing technical support to the city’s critical infrastructure enterprises.
