A significant conference focused on contemporary medical rehabilitation has commenced in Odesa. This event is organized by the Odesa National Medical University in partnership with the Rehabilitation Management Association.

Over two days, leading specialists will discuss crucial topics regarding the organization of rehabilitation services in Southern Ukraine, including the implementation of a patient-centered approach in rehabilitation, collaboration between medical and non-medical rehabilitation service providers, the development of adaptive sports and physical rehabilitation, the provision of technical rehabilitation aids, and social assistance.

Levon Nikogosyan, Director of the Odesa City Health Department, shared insights on building a unified rehabilitation service system in the city.

Comprehensive care involves the active participation of healthcare facilities of various ownership forms, social services, sports organizations, and NGOs. Multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams operate in eight city medical institutions, and a separate department has been established within the Health Department for effective coordination.

Medical institutions in Odesa have signed agreements with the National Health Service of Ukraine, enabling them to provide outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation as well as psychological support at no charge under the state medical guarantees program.

Odesa's medical professionals continuously adopt the best practices from Ukraine and around the world to implement innovative rehabilitation technologies and methodologies in the city's healthcare facilities.

«Rehabilitation assistance is one of the most critical areas of today. The consequences of war for our society can only be addressed through quality and effective rehabilitation,» emphasized Levon Nikogosyan, Director of the City Health Department.
