The Health Department of the Odesa City Council is actively engaged in ensuring the accessibility of medical services for individuals with disabilities.

This includes the installation of ramps, elevators, accessible restrooms, navigational aids, and the ability for wheelchair users to move independently within healthcare facilities.

Measures are being implemented in healthcare institutions to create barrier-free environments for patients, such as designated parking spaces, tactile paving, ramps at entrances, ensuring elevator functionality, and providing informational navigation using Braille.

Additional examination rooms for patients, including those with special needs, have been established on the ground floors of medical institutions.

The principle of barrier-free access is being implemented across all inpatient and outpatient healthcare facilities. Furthermore, renovations have been conducted to ensure accessibility at the entrance groups of Primary Health Care Center No. 2 and diagnostic centers No. 20 and No. 29.

At the base of city clinical hospitals No. 1, No. 10, No. 11, and the children's city clinical hospital No. 3, work is ongoing to create inclusive wards that meet modern accessibility standards for patients with various disorders, including severe cases requiring constant assistance.

This involves equipping wards with functional beds, vital signs monitoring systems, ceiling or mobile lifts, and more.

Thanks to the support of charitable foundations, health facilities in the city have additionally received inclusive equipment, such as gynecological chairs with lifts and other resources.
