Last year, approximately 300 bronchoscopy procedures were performed in Odesa's medical facilities, enabling the timely identification of 45 suspected cases of oncological diseases and referring patients for further consultations and treatment.
Bronchoscopy is a procedure that examines the trachea and bronchi using an endoscope, which aids in early detection of respiratory organ cancers. It is recommended for individuals over 50 to undergo this examination even in the absence of symptoms.
This procedure is part of the state medical guarantee program and is performed free of charge with a referral from a doctor, including for patients receiving inpatient treatment.
