On April 3rd at the UNION International Cultural Center the III Regional Conference «Culture Without Barriers», was held in honor of World Autism Awareness Day. The event was organized by the Department of International Cooperation and Culture of the Odesa City Council with the support of cultural partners.

Among the participants was Ivanna Demirova, a teacher from the Bolhrad Music School, who is a co-author of the textbook «Inclusive Environment», reports Rayon.Bolhrad.

Conference in the Context of the Year of Accessibility

The year 2025 has been declared the Year of ACCESSIBLE SPACE in Ukraine. The conference  «Culture Without Barriers» became a significant event within this initiative. The aim of the event was to create an accessible environment in culture, implement inclusive practices, and exchange experiences in working with children with special educational needs.

Participants discussed a wide range of topics:

  • principles of physical and digital accessibility;

  • access to cultural services;

  • socialization of children with special needs;

  • mental health of youth during conflict;

  • methodological work of cultural institutions.

During the conference, an exhibition of ceramic works from the inclusive workshop was held, showcasing art as a means of inclusion.
