Students in Odessa will return to in-person classes starting Monday, April 14, provided the classroom temperature exceeds 17 degrees Celsius. Each school makes its own decision regarding this matter.
This information was shared on April 13 by Elena Buinevich, the director of the city's education department.
Classroom teachers are required to inform parents about the conditions in their schools.
«Today, all schools will check the temperature. If it is above +17°C, we will resume in-person learning. Both directors and teachers are just as interested in in-person education as parents and children are. The end of last week demonstrated the necessity of remote learning, so we are acting in accordance with health regulations,» Buinevich stated.
It should be noted that due to a sudden drop in temperature, Odessa schools switched to remote learning on April 8, which caused dissatisfaction among parents who believe that children should attend school.
