On April 18, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to distribute a subsidy of 830 million UAH for the establishment of shelters in schools.
This was reported by the government representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, on his Telegram channel.
“These funds are aimed at continuing the work on establishing shelters and ensuring safe conditions in educational institutions. Funding will be provided to 15 communities, as well as the regional budgets of Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Khmelnytskyi regions,” wrote Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on his Telegram channel.
He noted that over the past two years, the government has allocated a record 14 billion UAH for shelters in schools.
It is worth recalling that in 2024, Kyiv allocated 2.4 billion UAH for the creation of shelters, improving fire safety in schools, preparing them for winter, and establishing educational centers for the subject “Defending Ukraine.”
