As of the morning of April 21, electricity consumption in Ukraine has decreased by 12.6% compared to the previous working day, April 18.
NEC "Ukrenergo" reported on Facebook that electricity consumption in Ukraine continues to decline, according to Ukrinform.
"On April 21, at 9:30 AM, the level of electricity consumption was 12.6% lower than the previous working day, which was Friday. The reason is the non-working day established by some employers," the agency quoted the company's statement.
Moreover, sunny and warm weather across Ukraine contributes to a reduction in electricity demand from the national grid.
Ukrenergo advises shifting active electricity consumption to the hours when solar power plants are most effective, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
It’s worth noting that a week ago, on April 15, the official heating season for 2024/2025 ended in Ukraine.
Heat supply has been halted in all regions, but some social institutions, such as hospitals and kindergartens, will continue to receive heating under certain temperature conditions.
How many times did the Russian Federation attack Ukraine's energy system during the heating season?
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced the successful completion of the third heating season amid full-scale war, despite numerous Russian attacks on the country's energy system.
According to him, during the 2024/2025 heating season, Russia launched 9 massive and dozens of smaller attacks against the Ukrainian energy system.
"Despite all this, we stood firm. Homes of millions of Ukrainians, schools, and hospitals had light and heat. Our enterprises also operated without significant restrictions," said the Prime Minister.
