In Ukraine, the number of individuals suffering from gambling addiction has tripled over the past year. The Gamblers Registry now includes 12,807 Ukrainians.

This information comes from "Opendatabot".

During the last year, the registry added 9,389 new entries, while 1,496 were removed due to expired restrictions.

According to "Opendatabot", a total of 14,979 individuals have been registered since its inception, with 2,172 having been removed.

It is noted that 99% of all entries in the registry are voluntary requests. Individuals submit applications for self-exclusion to restrict their access to gambling establishments and participation in games of chance for a designated period. This restriction lasts from six months to three years.

Conversely, only 1% are individuals whose access was restricted by a decision from KRAIL. Throughout the registry's existence, 169 such decisions have been made, nearly all of which occurred last year.

Last year, an average of 780 individuals were added to the registry each month, which is 2.8 times more than in 2023 when approximately 280 individuals were added monthly. The highest number of self-exclusion requests was recorded in April – 1,041, while the lowest was in June – 524.

In the first two months of 2025, 1,719 individuals have already been added to the registry, averaging 860 per month – a 10% increase compared to 2024.

"Opendatabot" emphasized that there is currently no precise statistics in Ukraine regarding the actual number of citizens with gambling addiction, and the figures from the registry do not reflect the complete picture – particularly regarding individuals playing in online casinos.
