Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal and the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Odile Renaud-Basso have signed an agreement that will bolster Ukraine's energy sector.

As reported by the news outlet "European Truth," Shmyhal shared this update on Facebook.

The agreement entails the allocation of 270 million euros to Ukraine under state guarantees, accompanied by a grant of 140 million euros from the Norwegian government.

"This will enable Naftogaz of Ukraine to import significant volumes of natural gas in preparation for the upcoming heating season," Shmyhal explained.

He noted that since the onset of the full-scale war with Russia, the EBRD has mobilized over 6 billion euros for Ukraine in the form of loans and grants.

Previously, it was reported that the EBRD plans to invest at least 1.5 billion euros by 2025 to support the economy and business in Ukraine during wartime.

Specifically, 1 billion euros is intended for the energy sector.
