The charitable organizations "Happy Paw" and "Kovcheg-Odessa" invite everyone to an open house day on May 4 at the shelter. The organizers aim to raise awareness about adopting animals from shelters, so that more homeless cats and dogs can find their new families.
Currently, the "Kovcheg-Odessa" shelter cares for over 800 cats and dogs. The organizers note that each new animal that arrives at the shelter places additional pressure on staff and the permanent residents, as it can lead to the risk of illness and food shortages.
"Open house day is a perfect opportunity for the whole family to spend time together, especially for those who have dreamed of adopting a pet from the shelter and want to learn how to help. ... Supporting homeless animals can be done not only financially but also with your time, effort, and most importantly, attention," the message states.
During the event, there will be a tour of the shelter, a briefing on behavior rules, stories about the lives of local cats and dogs, and "cat-dog therapy". Everyone interested will be able to assist the shelter by cleaning, feeding, walking dogs, playing with cats, and more.
The open house day will take place on May 4 at 12:00 at: 1st Sorting St., 22.
