Father's Day in Ukraine: New Traditions and Significance
This holiday is relatively new for Ukraine. Various organizations have attempted to establish it since 2006, but it only became official in 2019. Before that, Ukrainians celebrated it unofficially, but now there are traditions and events held each year.
Initially, it was suggested to celebrate it in September, but later it was decided that the third Sunday in June would be more suitable. Now this holiday aligns with many countries worldwide.
Unfortunately, due to the war, celebrations have become quieter, but this does not diminish its significance. Many families strive to be together, even when it is challenging. The war reminds us of the importance of family and support.
This day is a wonderful opportunity to express your love for your father, even if you are far apart. Sending a drawing or recording a video can be a way to support a father defending the country.
Remember that the role of a father is not limited to biological parenthood. Grandfathers, brothers, or other men who have been a support in your life also play an important role.
On June 15, don't forget to congratulate your loved ones on Father's Day. Every simple gesture can mean a lot to them.
