The Odesa region has ranked among the top areas in Ukraine for new electric vehicle registrations in May. A total of 345 electric cars were registered, the majority of which were used vehicles, according to the Ukravtoprom association.

Statistics on Electric Vehicle Preferences

According to Ukravtoprom, 345 electric cars were registered in the Odesa region in May. Notably, 77% of these vehicles were previously owned. Leading the national rankings is Lviv region with 799 electric vehicles registered. Following are Kyiv (779), Kyiv region (556), and Dnipropetrovsk region (518). Overall, 6168 new electric vehicles hit the roads of Ukraine in May 2025.

In terms of driver preferences, the most frequently chosen new model in Kyiv, Kyiv region, and Dnipropetrovsk region is the Volkswagen ID.UNYX. In contrast, the Honda eNS1 has emerged as the clear favorite among new electric vehicles in Lviv and Odesa regions. For used cars, the Nissan Leaf continues to lead in our region.

According to the State Customs Service, since the beginning of the year, over 40,000 electric vehicles have been imported into Ukraine, primarily from the United States, totaling $810 million. Electric vehicles account for 22% of all imported cars. Customs officials forecast that 2025 may become a record year for the import of 'green' cars. It is also noted that the average price of an electric vehicle imported into Ukraine exceeds $20,000.
