Another tram has been successfully modernized in Odesa, featuring a unique lift for individuals with disabilities.
The "Odesacityelectrotrans" has completed the upgrade of a «Tatra» tram, which will soon be operational on city routes.
The highlight of this upgraded tram is a proprietary lift developed by local specialists, enhancing accessibility for passengers with limited mobility. These lifts were showcased to the Odesa delegation during the InnoTrans - 2024 international transport exhibition in Berlin. The mayor of Odesa noted that this is a prime example of successful international cooperation.
The design has passed technical tests and received positive feedback from ambassadors of the «Movement Without Barriers» initiative. The company has already submitted documents for patenting this development.
«We are not just upgrading transport — we are creating comfort and accessibility for every resident. Such projects have become the norm for Odesa, but I am well aware of the tremendous effort behind each achievement», said the mayor of Odesa.
The modernized tram is ready to hit the routes, and specialists are already working on the next upgrades.
