In an extraordinary session, the Odesa City Council approved funding for the Department of Municipal Economy to conduct technical inspections and urgent emergency work on buildings that were damaged as a result of enemy attacks.

Specifically, this concerns a building on Oleksandr Kutuzakiy Street, 3, where the structure from the 5th to the 8th floors was completely destroyed by shelling, along with damage to load-bearing walls, staircases, and ceilings.

Preliminary assessments by experts from the Odesa State Academy of Construction and Architecture have declared part of the building as unsafe. All residents have been evacuated and offered temporary accommodation with relatives, friends, or in municipal facilities.

The building is under round-the-clock security to prevent accidents and loss of property.

Funding has also been allocated for the restoration of other affected facilities.

“We are striving to act as quickly as possible within all procedures established by law. We are in constant contact with the affected families and are doing everything we can to provide timely assistance. I thank the council members for their prompt response and support of this crucial decision,” stated Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov.

The decision was unanimously adopted.
