Odesa is experiencing challenging weather conditions. As of this morning, strong winds have toppled 47 trees and large branches.
There have also been several instances of power line and street lighting disruptions.
The municipal services are engaged in addressing the aftermath of the storm.
Emergency situations are being resolved by specialists from municipal enterprises such as «Miskzelentest», «City Roads», «Housing and Utility Services», and «Odesmisksvitlo».
Workers are cutting down fallen trees and clearing the streets of debris.
Primarily, specialists from «Miskzelentest» and «City Roads» are clearing roads, highways, and pedestrian paths of fallen trees, as well as removing trees obstructing access to socially significant facilities. Employees of «Housing and Utility Services» are working in residential areas.
Currently, 44 addresses have been addressed, with 3 more in progress.
Specialists from «City Roads» are additionally cleaning stormwater drain grates, flushing pipes, and clearing collectors. A total of 269 workers and 48 pieces of special equipment are operational in the city. No street flooding has been recorded so far.
Motorists are advised not to leave vehicles on stormwater drain grates or in close proximity to them, as this complicates the work of the special equipment.
According to meteorologists, the gusty winds are expected to persist throughout the day, reaching 15-20 m/s.
Due to adverse weather conditions, the Odesa City Council urges residents and visitors to remain vigilant, limit movement and travel around the city, especially for the elderly, children, and pregnant women.
Please do not park vehicles under trees and power lines, and exercise caution when moving under trees, as rain and gusty winds may cause branches and cables to fall.
The storm in the Black Sea is increasing the mine danger. There is a high likelihood of naval mines breaking loose from their anchors and washing ashore, as well as drifting along the coastline. We reiterate that the danger of being in the beach area is extremely high. The risk of uncontrolled detonation of a mine is considerable, especially during stormy weather. If you encounter a naval mine or any similar objects, do not touch them. Immediately report to 102.
