Despite the ongoing war, Odesa continues to offer residents and visitors access to HIV testing.

HIV tests are conducted free of charge at all city hospitals, primary healthcare centers, diagnostic facilities, maternity hospitals, and women's consultation clinics.

Anyone can learn their HIV status for free within 15 minutes from a family doctor, in a diagnostic clinic, or in a hospital setting. The provision of rapid HIV tests is supported by the City Health Program.

In the first 9 months of 2025, a total of 29,240 individuals underwent HIV testing in Odesa's medical institutions, resulting in 268 new positive cases.

Patients with positive results are referred to the City Center for HIV Prevention and Treatment for further examination and to receive free highly effective antiretroviral therapy, enabling people with HIV to lead long, fulfilling lives.

The organization of HIV testing in Odesa and the work of multidisciplinary teams have received high praise from both domestic and international experts.
