The Odesa specialized children's home No. 1 hosts a palliative care unit where children with serious lifelong illnesses receive quality medical assistance.

The youngest child in the unit is just 1 year and 3 months old, while the oldest is 15. Most of the children have congenital nervous system disorders, such as cerebral palsy.

The unit is equipped with modern medical equipment purchased with city budget funds and support from donors.

Children receive expensive treatments free of charge, along with special enteral nutrition, all while being surrounded by attentive and caring staff in comfortable conditions.

In addition to palliative care, the children's home also provides opportunities for medical rehabilitation for the children.

This week, representatives from the Kyiv district administration, Compassion Medical (USA), and the church of the Evangelical Baptist “House of Prayer” visited the children’s home.

During the meeting, current needs of the institution were discussed. An agreement was reached to assist in acquiring medical equipment that will significantly improve the care for children and ease the workload of the staff.
