Recently, military personnel from the Odesa border guard joined the «Donor Odesa» initiative led by the Southern Regional Department of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

About twenty border guards participated in this collective donation, most of whom are regular blood donors. The military understands the critical need for a blood reserve during wartime, which can save the lives of their comrades and civilians in urgent need of medical care.

«Protecting Ukraine involves not only combat duty but also readiness to help those fighting for their lives in hospitals,» the border guards stated.

Each blood donation can save up to three lives. Donating blood not only offers a chance for others but is also beneficial for the donor's health if there are no contraindications.

The «Donor Odesa» initiative has been actively engaging blood donors for medical facilities since the early days of the full-scale war, providing over 14,000 donations so far.

It is crucial today for every Ukrainian who can donate blood to participate.
