In Odessa, preparations for the New Year and Christmas celebrations are underway. Yesterday, municipal workers began assembling the city's main Christmas tree on Deribasivska Street.

The height of the Christmas tree is 20 meters, with a width of 9. Traditionally, it will be topped with a Christmas star. This year, the main New Year tree of Odessa will be decorated with elements of traditional Ukrainian patterns and blue-yellow ribbons.

The grand opening is scheduled for December 6 – St. Nicholas Day.

«On St. Nicholas Day, the main Christmas tree of Odessa will be inaugurated, along with a festive concert organized by the Department of Culture, International Cooperation, and European Integration. Guests will enjoy a concert by the Odessa Municipal Brass Band named after O. Salik, as well as performances by talented children from local creative institutions. Additional festive events will take place during the New Year and Christmas season at various municipal establishments, including the zoo», - noted Ivan Liptuga, the director of the department.

Due to the martial law and curfew, mass street celebrations are not planned for New Year’s Eve.
