Tonight at 11:00 PM, the first-ever Winter Invictus Games will officially open in Whistler and Vancouver, Canada, running until February 16.

Introducing another participant from Odesa.
Illya Pylypenko, sailor of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, veteran. He was injured in September 2022 due to a tank explosion from a mine near the settlement of Bilohirka, Kherson region.

“Currently, I am developing the veteran movement in Odesa. I enjoy life. I swim in the sea. I’ve started to appreciate the little things. Sometimes I feel like a child. After training, I enter the sea with such joy that it’s comparable to the happiness of being able to wash from a bottle after a week in a tank,” shares Illya Pylypenko.
