In August 2025, a groundbreaking cultural-digital project titled «Heritage. Digital. Odesa Opera House» commenced in Odesa, supported financially by the Ukrainian Cultural Fund and facilitated by the Department of International Cooperation, Culture, and Marketing of the Odesa City Council.
The project aims to digitize the Odesa National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet — one of Odesa's key architectural and artistic treasures.
During the first phase, laser 3D scanning of over 1100 points of the theater's structure was conducted (including facades, balconies, stairs, and service areas), along with the creation of over 4000 high-quality images of interior details for 3D modeling, panoramic shooting, and preparation of a virtual tour.
The technical execution of the project is managed by the Lviv-based team Skeiron — recognized specialists in the digitalization of cultural heritage, who have successfully completed over 100 similar initiatives in Ukraine.
The digitized materials will form the foundation for a virtual tour of the Odesa Opera House, enabling anyone from anywhere in the world to explore this unique theater, preserve its legacy for future generations, and promote the international visibility of Odesa's cultural identity.
The results of the project are set to be presented in September 2025.
«We take pride in Odesa's modern approach to preserving cultural heritage. This project integrates technology, culture, and international cooperation — and such synergy is our priority,» noted representatives from the Department of International Cooperation, Culture, and Marketing.
