In Odesa, a series of upgrades to the Tatra tram models are being initiated with the installation of lift mechanisms.

The first upgraded tram is already operational on route No. 15. By the end of the year, two more modernized vehicles will be equipped with lifts developed by the specialists of KP "OMET", based on a new technology currently undergoing patent approval.

According to the city mayor, Hennadiy Trukhanov, participation in the InnTrans exhibition in Berlin helped find solutions to issues that have long plagued post-Soviet countries.

The Tatra trams are considered one of the most effective models from Czech production, still in use in cities like Prague. The innovative developments by Odesa engineers allow these trams to meet modern standards for comfortable transportation of individuals with disabilities.

Before the upgrade process commenced, discussions were held with veterans, people with limited mobility, and their caregivers to ensure all user needs were considered.

Participants in the meetings noted that the new lift mechanisms are convenient and reliable. The KP "OMET" workshops are set to begin the mass installation of lifts on the modernized trams.
