On October 15, 2024, an important working meeting took place at Odesa City Hall, featuring acting Mayor Oleksandr Filatov and the mayor's advisor on social and humanitarian issues, Veronika Etnarovych. The UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Ukraine, Mr. Matthias Schmale, was also present.

Among the attendees were: the head of the Europe, Central Asia and Caucasus department, Mr. Abdul Hak Amiri, the acting head of UN OCHA in Ukraine, Ms. Ann-Sophie Le Beo, and other international organization representatives.

The meeting addressed security issues and humanitarian needs of Odesa amid military aggression, as well as support for internally displaced persons and preparation for the winter season.

UN representatives emphasized the importance of including assistance for internally displaced persons in the Humanitarian Response Plan, as well as the need for additional protective shelters in Odesa.

They also discussed ensuring the reliable operation of heating and water supply systems for social institutions during the autumn-winter period.

Oleksandr Filatov expressed gratitude to international partners for their support in the recovery of homes affected by hostile attacks.
