Last week, Odesa welcomed representatives from European institutions, including the EU Ambassador to Ukraine, Ms. Katarina Maternova, and the head of the European Investment Bank's regional office for Eastern Europe, Kristina Mikulova.
During their working visit, the delegation explored the operations of the rolling stock repair workshops of KP 'Odesmelectrotrans' and toured the electric transport museum, where they were given a brief guided tour.
Last year, as part of the 'Ukrainian Urban Public Transport' project and with the financial backing of the European Investment Bank, multi-section Tatra trams were acquired.
These trams currently service route No. 7, providing comfortable transport for the residents of Odesa.
During the meeting, the parties discussed ongoing and upcoming initiatives aimed at modernizing urban transport, enhancing its efficiency, and promoting sustainability.
This visit marked a significant step in strengthening the partnership between Odesa, the European Union, and the European Investment Bank in the realm of sustainable urban development.
