Odessa Mayor Gennady Trukhanov met with Mr. Ralph Fuchs, a German politician and head of the Center for Liberal Modernity, along with Ms. Mariluise Beck, director for Eastern and Central Europe at the same center.

During the meeting, the parties discussed critical issues such as the current humanitarian and security situation in Odessa, as well as matters concerning internally displaced persons and international collaboration.

Special attention was given to energy issues and preparations for the upcoming heating season.

In collaboration with the Center for Liberal Modernity and the German GIZ agency, a project for the improvement of the "Against Forgetting" square is being implemented in Odessa. However, due to the full-scale invasion, its implementation has been suspended, and funds provided by German partners have been redirected to meet civilian needs in the city, including generators, diesel fuel, solar power stations for medical institutions, and other resources.

The agency also provided humanitarian assistance to Odessa, which included 2 Mercedes-Benz ambulances, 10 Mitsubishi L200 pickups, 5 Ford Transit minibuses, 2 cargo trucks, a garbage truck, medical kits, and more.

The city of Odessa expresses its heartfelt gratitude to its German partners for their ongoing support and assistance.
