The Mayor of Odesa, Gennadiy Trukhanov, presented an award to the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Vietnam to Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Nguyen Hong Thach.

During the ongoing war, the Vietnamese community continues to support social institutions in Odesa, including the Odesa Zoo.

Specifically, at the initiative of the Ambassador and with the backing of the Vietnamese community, a new aviary for green peacocks has been constructed in the zoo.

"Many Vietnamese have found their home in Odesa. When the city provides good living conditions, it is only natural that residents take responsibility for its development," the Ambassador noted.

During the events, the Vietnamese community showcased their national traditions and culture.

The Mayor thanked all participants and the Vietnamese people, emphasizing the importance of caring for our smaller brothers, especially during wartime.

He also highlighted that the restoration of the Odesa Zoo, begun before the invasion, will certainly continue after our victory.
