The Odesa regional prosecutor's office has submitted an indictment to the court against three members of an organized crime group for committing sabotage in the form of arson at railway facilities during a state of war (Part 3 Art. 28 Part 2 Art. 113 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

It has been established that the accused received an order from a Russian special services officer via a messenger to carry out sabotage at Odesa railway facilities for monetary rewards.

During August 2024, they used a pre-prepared incendiary mixture to set fire to 8 relay cabinets on railway sections and stations in the Odesa region.

The arsonists operated according to the “classical scheme” of Russian special services: first, they scouted potential targets, obtained approval, and then carried out the arsons, recording them on video. For each completed task, they received payment, which was divided among the group's members.

All the accused are currently in custody.

The preliminary investigation and operational support were carried out by the SBU in the Odesa region.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a lawful manner by a court verdict.
