An Odessa resident is to be tried for the illegal occupation of protected land. The man constructed a gazebo for relaxation directly on the territory of the Lower Dniester National Park. Police documented the offense, and now the fisherman faces up to two years in prison.

Built a gazebo in the national park
According to law enforcement, in the Yaskiv community, a 62-year-old man illegally occupied a plot of land near the Dniester River, right on the territory of a nature reserve. He set up a fishing area with a gazebo without any permits.
During the investigation, it was discovered that the man seized 33.21 m² of land that is part of the Lower Dniester National Park.
"The man used part of the state natural park for his personal recreation area. He had no permit documents," said investigator Daria Stotska.
It is known that the seized area is of state significance and is subordinate to the Ministry of Environmental Protection.
What punishment for illegal land seizure
The pre-trial investigation against the offender has been completed, and the indictment has already been sent to court. The defendant has been charged with illegal occupation of land, committed concerning particularly valuable lands. According to the sanction of part 2 of article 197-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, he faces up to two years of imprisonment.
