The city of Odessa recently hosted the II stage of competitions as part of the nationwide project «School Sports» for students in general education institutions for the 2024/2025 academic year.

School teams competed fiercely in volleyball and rugby-5, showcasing their skills and teamwork.

In the girls' volleyball category for grades 5-9, teams from Lyceums No. 7, 56, 86, and Gymnasium No. 25 advanced to the III stage, while for grades 9-11, the teams from Lyceums No. 13, 51, 62, and Specialized School No. 32 made it through.

The champions of the II stage in boys' volleyball for grades 5-9 were the teams from Lyceums No. 5, 89, and Gymnasium No. 77, while in the grades 9-11 category, the champions were from Lyceums No. 24, 84, «Langeron», and Specialized School No. 32.

This year, the rugby-5 competitions were held for the first time among students in general education institutions. This exciting sport enhances team spirit, speed, and strategic thinking, encouraging players to devise original tactics requiring excellent communication.

The winners of the II stage in rugby-5 were the teams from Lyceums No. 28, 40, and 69.

All participants demonstrated a high level of preparation and unwavering determination to win. With new challenges ahead, teams are diligently preparing for upcoming competitions.

The «School Sports» project is the largest student competition in the country for the 2024/2025 academic year, held under the slogan «Together We Will Win». The goal is to increase the number of students who engage in regular sports and lead a healthy lifestyle.
