The first round of the open volleyball tournament «Southern League» among girls of two age categories, 2008 and 2010, was held in Odessa.

Eleven teams from Odessa, Mykolaiv, Kryvyi Rih, and Zhytomyr participated in the competition. The tournament format includes 4 regular rounds and 1 final round.

In the 2008 category, the Odessa team «Lantana» showed excellent performance, winning all matches and losing only two sets throughout the tournament. The Mykolaiv team secured the second place, while the Kryvyi Rih team finished third.

In the 2010 category, the team from Odessa's Comprehensive Children and Youth Sports School «Dzhinistra» achieved a confident victory. The Zhytomyr team placed second, and the Mykolaiv team took the third spot.

The «Dzhinistra» team included athletes from the beach volleyball division.
