From April 4 to 6, the Ukrainian championship for U-17 juniors in Greco-Roman wrestling was held in Khmelnytskyi.

This event served as qualifiers for the European Championship set to occur in June in Italy.

The gold medal and a ticket to the European Championship were claimed by Herman Basarab (48 kg) — a member of the Odesa Wrestling Federation, competing for the Greek wrestling club, Sports School «Olympic», and the Dynamo Sports Society.

Another Odesa representative, Danilo Dragulyan in the 65 kg category, faced a tough final against a Kharkiv athlete, securing a silver medal and a spot on the Ukrainian national team.

Both athletes were trained by experienced coaches — Viktor Synyavskyi and Oleksandr Hraban.
