Vadim Naumenko, a swimmer from Odesa, achieved extraordinary success by winning four gold medals at the open championship in Lithuania, held in Vilnius from April 3 to 6.

KEY RESULTS

The leading Odesa swimmer, trained by Oleksandra Kurbanova, secured gold in both the 200 m and 400 m individual medley events, as well as in the 4x100 m medley and 4x200 m freestyle relays.

Additionally, Vadim made it into the top 6 swimmers of the championship and received special awards alongside his coach.

MEDAL DETAILS

In his signature event, the 200 m individual medley, Vadim Naumenko finished first with a time of 2:02.11, taking the lead from the very start. He completed the 400 m event in 4:23.07, with another Ukrainian swimmer, Anton Denisenko, taking second place in both events.

In the 4x100 m medley relay, the Ukrainian team, consisting of Vadim, Anton, Maksym Ovchynnikov, and Denys Kesil, achieved a time of 3:41.07, finishing 2.45 seconds ahead of their nearest competitors.

In the 4x200 m freestyle relay, the Ukrainian squad won with a time of 7:30.75, surpassing the silver medalists by 1.62 seconds. Instead of Ovchynnikov, Georgiy Lukashev from Lviv participated in this relay.

UPCOMING COMPETITIONS

The next event for the Odesa region team will be the Ukrainian championship scheduled for April 25-29 in Brovary.

Additionally, on April 12-13, Arseniy Poberezhnyuk (2007-2009) and Ivan Ryaduev (2010-2011) will compete in the international "Multination" competitions. The older athletes will compete in Limassol (Cyprus), while the younger ones will participate in Ljubljana (Slovenia).
