Ukrainians in Canada had the opportunity to preview the exhibition «Ukrainian Football: The Game Continues» before its official opening.

As part of the event, players such as Mykola Matviienko, Heorhii Sudakov, Roman Yaremchuk, and Ivan Kaliuzhnyi were present.

The exhibition «Ukrainian Football: The Game Continues» opens in Toronto, where visitors can see original football trophies, coaching notes by Valerii Lobanovskyi, and learn about how Ukrainian football has survived during the war.

This unique project, featuring over 200 exhibits, is making its first international appearance to share the story of the development of Ukrainian football and its significant role in Ukraine's struggle during the war.

The exhibition called “Ukrainian Football: The Game Continues” will take place at the Trident Centre in Toronto from June 5 to June 10 (from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM). Admission is free.

It was organized by the Ukrainian Football Association as part of the Canadian Shield tournament, in which the Ukrainian national team will participate.

What to know about the Canadian Shield Tournament

The Canadian Shield tournament is a new international competition organized by Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE), SPORTFIVE, and MIB Sport Agency.

Four men's national teams will compete in the Canadian Shield: Canada, Ukraine, Côte d'Ivoire, and New Zealand.

The Canadian Shield competitions are positioned as a preparation stage for teams ahead of the upcoming World Cup, part of which will be held in North America in 2026.
