Today, June 18, the Ukrainian national team in 3x3 basketball played their first match in the second stage of the Women's Series taking place in the Mongolian capital, Ulaanbaatar.
The first opponent for the Ukrainian players was the German team, which put up a strong fight. However, our players proved to be the stronger side.
The Germans took an early lead, creating a 4-point gap. Despite their confident play on both offense and defense, the Ukrainians gradually caught up with their opponents.
Angelika Lyashko made the decisive shot with a foul, sinking free throws with 20 seconds left to give Ukraine its first lead in the match (15:13).
In the time remaining, Germany attempted to make a comeback, but an airball and a steal by Miriam Uro-Nile secured victory for the Ukrainian team.

It is worth noting that at 11:30 Germany will play against Singapore. A loss for the German team will guarantee Ukraine a spot in the Women's 3x3 Series playoffs, while a win in the second match will allow them to advance from the top position.
