The «INDEPENDENCE HALF MARATHON» attracted over 600 runners from various regions of Ukraine and beyond.
The race route highlighted iconic locations in Odesa — Primorsky Boulevard, Deribasivska, and other famous streets.
The Mayor of Odesa, Gennady Trukhanov, welcomed participants on Sports Day, expressing gratitude to everyone involved in the organization and to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for making such events possible.
The mayor emphasized the significance of sports in everyone’s life, considering a healthy lifestyle fundamental:
«Those who came here are already winners!»
Among the first participants were veterans and individuals with disabilities.
Advisor to the Mayor, Oleksiy Morozov, pointed out that adaptive sports are actively developing in Odesa.
The «INDEPENDENCE HALF MARATHON» included the following distances:
- Children's distances — from 60 m to 1 km,
- Adults — 5 km, 10 km, and 21 km.
This year, the marathon united participants not just in sports, but also for a noble cause — fundraising for patients at the Odesa Superhumans Center.
