Last week, a significant health campaign was held in Odesa in honor of World Health Day.

The event was organized with the support of the Odesa City Council's Health Department and the Odesa Health Center.

On this day, anyone interested could undergo a comprehensive health check-up for free at primary healthcare centers, diagnostic centers, and hospital departments. Family doctors and therapists provided consultations, measured blood pressure, blood glucose levels, pulse, and conducted ECG tests. Patients were issued electronic referrals for laboratory tests and consultations with specialists as necessary.

As a result of the campaign, 2536 residents of Odesa underwent medical check-ups in the city’s healthcare facilities. With the assistance of the Kyiv District Administration, the doctors of the PHC No. 3 examined 55 individuals — visitors and staff of the administrative building.
During the screenings, 331 cases of high blood pressure and 200 cases of elevated blood glucose levels were detected for the first time. Following the ECG tests, 258 patients were referred to a cardiologist.

For patients needing further examinations, doctors created 1112 electronic referrals for laboratory tests and 640 for specialist consultations. All patients received consultations from physicians.

Health days allow for timely detection of health issues, increase residents' awareness of disease prevention and early diagnosis, and remind everyone of the importance of a healthy lifestyle and caring for one’s health.
