The South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K.D. Ushynsky hosted an event titled “Mental Health: New Horizons of Support.” This initiative is part of the program “How Are You?” launched by the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska.

The main goal of the event was to raise awareness about the importance of mental health preservation and to create a platform for experience sharing.

Over 40 participants attended the event in person, with more than 100 joining online. The attendees included students, psychologists, educators, and activists.

Welcoming remarks were given by the Deputy Head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, Dmytro Radulov, the university rector Andriy Krasnozhon, and the regional coordinator of the “How Are You?” program, Anna Velychko. They emphasized the importance of consolidating efforts in mental health and the crucial role of youth in building psychological resilience in society.

The event's program included a thematic quiz, interactive activities, and practical tools for supporting mental well-being.

The session was moderated by Andriy Bortov, the head of the Mental Health Center, who presented current statistical data regarding requests for mental health professionals.

At the end of the event, participants engaged in a gratitude practice, creating a symbolic “Gratitude Tree” with personal wishes and supportive messages.

The event confirmed the growing interest in mental health topics and the importance of continuing such initiatives in the region.

The development and implementation of the “How Are You?” program is supported by the Mental Health Coordination Center of the Cabinet of Ministers with the expert assistance of the World Health Organization.
