From May 22 to 26, 2025, Bucharest, Romania, hosted the world final of the INFOMATRIX-2025 computer project competition. This year, the event brought together 400 students from 20 countries, showcasing 350 innovative projects.
The Ukrainian team, consisting of 21 finalists from Kyiv, Odesa, Kharkiv, Lviv, and Volyn regions, competed in five categories: “Programming,” “Computer Art,” “Hardware Management,” “Short Film,” and “Hackathon.” The judges evaluated both the projects and their presentations in English. Events were held in separate venues, while the Hackathon teams competed in a specially designed room.
As a result, the Ukrainian team won 5 bronze, 5 silver, 2 gold, and 2 platinum medals.
The contribution from Odesa was also significant.
Specifically, the platinum medal was awarded to 11th grader Yegor Bovkun from Odesa Lyceum No. 65 for the project “Architectural History of Churches in Ukraine” (supervisor - computer science teacher Oleg Pustovoyt).
The gold medal was awarded to Agata Ihnatova, a student from Odesa Youth Technicians Station “Sigma” for the project “Guardians of Sustainable Future” (supervisors - club leaders Oksana Kostenko for “Computer Graphics and Design” and Hanna Momotiuk for “Business English”);
The bronze medal went to 8th grader Taisiya Tostohan from Odesa Lyceum No. 65 for the team project “ProDreams - In Action!” (supervisor - computer science teacher Alla Omelchenko).
