Details: He emphasized NATO's unwavering support and promised continued assistance to Ukraine.

"The Ukrainian people have faced so much – not only the Russian attack on Sumy on Palm Sunday. NATO's support is steadfast. We will continue to aid Ukraine so that it can defend itself today and deter future aggression, ensuring a just and lasting peace," Rutte wrote.

Meanwhile, Zelensky shared on X that he and Rutte visited a hospital where Ukrainian defenders are recovering from injuries. He also posted a video from this visit.

"We spoke with the soldiers. I awarded the defenders with state honors. I thank the guys for their strength, endurance, and protection of our people," he wrote.

On April 4, after the conclusion of the Alliance's ministerial meeting, Rutte stated that the Alliance's stance on Ukraine's NATO membership remains unchanged despite all political statements.

On the same day, Kremlin spokesman Kirill Dmitriev, who was in Washington, stated that the Trump administration is sympathetic to President Vladimir Putin's position on Ukraine's NATO membership being impossible.
