President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced the formation of a new delegation for negotiations with Russian representatives. Rustem Umerov will lead the delegation, which will include experts from intelligence, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the President's Office.
The President shared this information via Telegram.
“I have instructed to form a new delegation for negotiations with the Russian side. Rustem Umerov will head the delegation, and it will include representatives from Ukrainian intelligence, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the President's Office,” Zelensky stated following a meeting on the crucial outcomes of negotiation efforts.
According to the President, during the meeting, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov reported on the results of the second meeting with the Russian side held in Istanbul and discussed plans for a new meeting in the near future.
“Ukraine is ready to work as productively as possible to secure the release of our citizens from captivity, the return of abducted children, and to halt killings, as well as to prepare for a meeting of leaders aimed at truly ending this war. Our position is fully transparent. Ukraine has never desired this war, and it is Russia that must end the conflict it initiated,” the head of state emphasized.
Additionally, Zelensky noted that during the meeting, the head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak reported on coordinating diplomatic efforts with partners in Europe and the United States.
