The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, honored the memory of fallen F-16 pilot Pavel Ivanov by posthumously awarding him the title of Hero of Ukraine.

Quote: "In recognition of personal bravery and heroism displayed in the defense of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as selfless service to the Ukrainian people, I hereby decree:

To confer the title of Hero of Ukraine with the award of the "Golden Star" order to Pavel Ivanovich Ivanov – Major (posthumously)."

What preceded: On Saturday, April 12, during a combat mission on an F-16, 26-year-old pilot Pavel Ivanov lost his life.

Zelensky noted that he had received reports from military officials regarding this combat situation, and all circumstances of the event are being clarified.
