On the night of July 9, a massive attack was launched by Russia, utilizing 741 aerial assets. Only 718 of these were neutralized by air defense systems, while the air forces recorded strikes in 4 locations, along with the downing of targets at 14 sites.

From 20:00 on July 8, the adversary employed:
- 728 strike drones of the Shahed type and other drones from directions: Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo - Russia;
- 7 cruise missiles X-101 and "Iskander-K" from the areas of Engels in Saratov region and Kursk region - Russia;
- 6 aeroballistic missiles X-47M2 "Kinzhal" from the airspace of Lipetsk region - Russia.
- The main target of the strike was the city of Lutsk in the Volyn region.
As of 08:00, preliminary data indicates that air defense has neutralized 718 of the adversary's aerial assets, with 303 destroyed by fire means, and 415 lost locationally:
- 296 enemy drones of the Shahed type (other types of drones) were destroyed by fire means, with 415 - locationally lost/suppressed by electronic warfare;
- 7 cruise missiles X-101 and "Iskander-K" - destroyed.
Strikes were confirmed in 4 locations, and the downing of targets occurred at 14 sites.
The air assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, and drone systems, along with mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
