A night filled with dread has returned to Odesa as the enemy launched a large-scale drone attack on the city.
According to the State Emergency Service (SES), a nine-story building suffered the most damage, with apartments on the 5th to 8th floors destroyed, and fires erupting in apartments on the 5th and 6th floors of one entrance.
Five individuals were rescued from trapped apartments, and 33 residents were evacuated.
Psychologists from the SES and the National Police provided support to affected residents.
Canine units were deployed on-site to search for potential victims among the rubble.
The debris removal efforts are complicated by the risk of structural collapse, as indicated by a specialized seismographic device installed to monitor the movement of the building's damaged structural elements.
A Resilience Point was established by the SES near the building to provide assistance to those affected.
Rescue operations continue, as firefighters also worked to address the aftermath of fires at other locations, including a private home and a gas station.
Preliminary reports indicate that three individuals were injured.
A total of 26 units of equipment and 112 rescuers from the SES are involved in the operations.
